About Strategic Communications
There is no smoke involved in good public relations. No mirrors either. But there is plenty of plain hard work.
Considering the thousands of messages we are exposed to daily, why are some heard loud and clear while others never register at all. The best answer may be that you and I have conditioned ourselves to absorb and respond only to those messages that "speak" to us.If an organization wants to improve the chances of having its message heard, it must decide to do some basic things when it "speaks:"
- Target your audience
- Deliver your message to your targets through channels that matter to them
- Reflect their priorities
- Make your communications relevant to their interests
- Use language that is "user friendly"
- Get there first.
