Traditional
Media:
Press Releases
"Anybody
can write a press release." We hear it every day. And that's true
-- sort of. But will it be read? Will anybody
care? Will anyone take time to tell you why it didn't get used?
The best
advice we give to "do-it-yourselfers" is not to bury the lead.
Write the most important thing first, and by definition, that should be
the most newsworthy message you have to deliver. Be sure to finish telling
the "who, what, when, where, why and how" of your story in the
first two paragraphs.
Now that
you've written the best press release in the world, who's going to handle
distribution? Do you have a media list? Is it up to date? You are addressing
reporters by name, aren't you? Is it tightly targeted or a broadcast release
to the world? Does it make a difference? Why
worry about these questions; let us do the job.
Remember,
good PR is not "smoke and mirrors." Good PR helps your organization
"shape the environment" in which your message is received. When
your message is understood and accepted -- that's the only PR that counts.
Opinion Editorials
Our op-eds
have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Detroit Free Press, Atlanta
Journal/Constitution and other major newspapers around the country.
Some of them have won awards for the periodicals in which they have
appeared.
In
this increasingly digital world, opinion-editorials remain an important
tool for communicating ideas and positions. Indeed, they are essential
to reach decision-makers and other "influentials" in the
marketplace who may be in a position to determine your organization's
future. And of course, not everyone gets their well-written op-ed
considered for publication by editors. "Placing" the op-ed
is fully half the assignment.
Remember,
there are no silver bullets in successful communications. An effective
communications strategy will employ every arrow in the PR quiver and
will employ those arrows over and over until the environment for success
is defined as you would define it.
Speeches
Not everyone
can deliver a good speech. Fewer still are those who can write a good
speech. When preparing a
speech, remember that short is better than long. This is perhaps the
hardest lesson for corporate speakers. Remember, no one ever complained
about a speech being too brief.
Speechwriters
should be quick studies, able to clearly communicate complex issues, and
most importantly, quickly adapt to the speaking style of their client.
Our writers have been successfully writing speeches for corporate executives
and members of Congress for over thirty years. We provide everything except
your case of "butterflies."
PowerPoint® Presentations
Not
just any PowerPoint should do. Of course, if you want it simple, we
can do that. But if you want it to sizzle, we can make that happen,
too. Inserting video and/or audio with your slides is no problem --
it just takes a little space on your hard drive. But what a difference
your audience will notice! We'll give you the fastest turnaround service
you've ever seen and your audience will ask you back ... again and
again.
But
don't expect the Powerpoint presentation to simply be a text presentation
of your speech. We don't do that. That's definitely not the best use
of PowePoint capabilities. But if you actually want the audience to
listen to the entire speech and maybe even ask questions of you at the
end, give us a call.
And More ....

We
do it all!
Special
reports, newsletters, educational materials, special event publications,
letters to shareholders -- even toasts! We prepare them all as part of
a comprehensive communications plan.
